Common Questions

Get answers to common questions about our assessment process, therapy services, pricing, insurance coverage, and what to expect during your journey with our clinic.

Assessments and therapy serve different but often complementary purposes:

  • Assessments help identify learning profiles, explore ADHD and learning
disabilities, and provide tailored recommendations for support at home, school,
or work. These are structured, time-limited processes that involve interviews,
testing, and written reports. These services are provided by a Licensed Psychologist.

  • Therapy services focus on supporting emotional, behavioural, or relational concerns over time. Therapy involves regular sessions to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and to build skills for coping, healing, and growth.

We work with children, youth, and adults. Our therapy services support individuals, couples, and families through a variety of life challenges. We also provide assessments to help identify learning profiles and support needs.

  • ADHD assessments are available for individuals age six and up.
  • Psycho-educational assessments are available for those age seven and up.
  • Therapy services are offered to individuals age eleven and up, with some clinicians offering support for younger children through family-based approaches.

You do not need a referral from your doctor to access psychological services. However, certain extended health insurance plans may require one for reimbursement. It is recommended that you check with your health insurance provider regarding the specifics of your coverage and whether a doctor’s referral is required.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. You can notify us by phone, voicemail, or email.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a fee:
  • Therapy sessions: Half the session fee will be charged for the first late cancellation; the full session fee will be charged for any additional late cancellations.
  • Assessment sessions: A $100 fee will be charged for the first late cancellation; $225 will be charged for any additional late cancellations.
  • No-shows: Missed appointments without any notice will be charged the full session fee based on your clinician’s hourly rate.

Services are provided at a flat rate, following the fee schedule recommended by the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick.
  • ADHD assessment: $1,800
  • Psycho-educational assessment: $2,700
  • Psycho-educational assessment plus ADHD: $3,150

Sessions with a Licensed Counselling Therapist are $150 per hour for individual therapy and $170 per hour for couples and family therapy.

Sessions with a Psychologist are $225 per hour for individual therapy.

If you’re unsure which clinician you’ll be seeing, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to clarify.

  1. Which family members are covered, and what are the annual coverage limits?
  2. When does my coverage year renew?
  3. How much is covered per session?
  4. Is a physician's referral required to qualify for coverage?

Psychological services are also an approved medical expense that can be claimed when completing your personal income tax.
